I’ll be sure to send you some better info once a couple months or so have gone by, but I wanted to let you know what we’ve noticed so far since we installed the radiant barrier under the shingles last Friday…

So typically, on a hot day (95+) with our AC set at 80, our cathedral ceiling living room regularly heats up to 81, 82, even with the AC running all day. The west facing room has minimal airspace in the attic and the heat was radiating into the room.

Unfortunately, the thermostat for the house is also in the room! Our AC typically came on around lunchtime and didn’t shut off until after dinner. However, on Sunday with the temp about 96-97 outside, our AC was set at 80 and it not only maintained the temp in the room, it even shut off 4 times between 3 and 7pm, the hottest part of the day.

I’m eager to get some electric bills to compare from month-to-month and year-to-year, and I’ll share some more testimonials when I have them!
